Hickory Smokehouse BBQ in Hickory

The best BBQ in Hickory, made right there, with awesome hush puppies and a choice of two sides. Choosing a side is sometimes difficult because they are ALL good. We usually go with baked beans, cole slaw or pub chips. Follow your nose in the Viewmont area, the smoky smell of BBQ will draw you in and keep you coming back. Desserts are awesome too, if you have room after the meal.

Food was meh brisket was grey and looked microwaved. Person who took our order was cool and helpful. Food was just total disappointment.

I ordered Doordash from here, It was my first time ordering and although I've heard good things I was highly disappointed. They forgot half my order, The one rib I got was the only thing that had any taste. The corn was overcooked, The okra was actually pretty good. The Chicken was Tender but bland overall the entire meal was just bland and left me feeling unsatisfied. A meal I thought was going to be really good turned out to be the exact opposite.

Nice little bbq spot. Would definitely recommend their pulled pork sandwich.

We love BBQ and have several great places around. This was our first time here because they are the only ones open on a Monday and with evening hours. It was delicious. I'm not sure how we have never eaten here before. Great potato salad and delicious sauces too. We will be back regularly.

Great food at great prices have a salad bar that can't be beat. Wait staff is always friendly and very attentive. Ice cream for dessert is a big plus.

This place has THE best BBQ sauce in town! We always try to keep a bottle handy in our home and in our camper! Food is good too, as well as the good cookies!

This little joint serves up the Only bbq for me! It's the best in town. Smoked perfectly and Never dry. Beef brisket just melts in your mouth lol!! And It Isn't Pre-Sauced!!! Choose Your Own Sauce! So! If you want real NC BBQ this is the place for YOU! ✌

I moved away and was visiting town looking forward to BBQ. Definitely NOT the quality of food it used to be. Young male worker was cleaning tables around us while we ate. He was spraying Windex to clean the tables! The smell of the cleaner overpowered our food! Couldn't even finish!!!

Stopped here for supper in Hickory. My order was immediately taken by the cheerful and courteous staff ! I ordered the Chopped Bbq plate with two sides and it was unexciting. The Bbq was dry and lacked smoke flavor. I sampled the Bbq sauces and they were either too sweet or too sour. My sides were Baked Beans and the Country Fries. The beans lacked flavor, but the fries were crisp. I also tried their Peach Cobbler and it was good.

Second worse restaurant I've ever eaten at. Nothing had any flavor at all besides the BBQ sauce it's self. The green beans I think were literally directly out of a giant can absolutely no seasoning at all. I will never be back. Had I not been trying to be nice because it's a bunch of kids running the place I most definitely would have ask for my money back.

Not only did I work there once upon a time I still order take out...food is great as always..the chicken and ribs are delicious

Great BBQ and wonderful sides to go with. Best place in hickory to get fried pickles. Staff is very friendly and the food comes out hot and fast.

Normally the food here is great, but when I decided to try the chicken finger combo at lunch the 2 and 1/2 (small) chicken fingers I got were very small and way over cooked/fried (burned). However, the French fries were great... all except for the fact that the plate was overflowing with them (like 2 whole potatoes worth). It's almost like they ran out of chicken and decided to make up for it in fries.

It was good.... But not sure what all the hype was about.... I was surprised that they use baby back ribs instead of spare ribs.... The grits with jalapenos was awesome.... The brisket was really good.... So disappointed in the chicken it was dry

It is always a pleasure to go to Hickory Smoke House.

Food wasn't bad, but we ordered dark meat chicken which they said they had. What we got was one of the smallest chicken breast I'd ever seen. They made no effort to make things right and for almost $10 plate wasn't any where near worth the price....Would not recommend!

I have always loved the smoke house. The last two times I've been there. The ribs are tuff. It seems the last year they slowly have gotten that way.

Great atmosphere, good local, southern style BBQ joint. Prices are reasonable. Seating is a bit limited so make sure your comfortable around others. Ordered beef brisket sandwich, very good with their homemade sauces
